I myself have the dcrpc350e sony camcorder .
Getting some cracking footage at airgun range with lamp and filter.
Trying different lasers to get beyond that .

Although you can get good results with a lamp and IR filter at close range your best results at long range will come with an IR laser.

I went out on Saturday night with the sony camcorder and a blazer light with an IR filter attached. I could see every detail on a rabbit at 50 yards.

Hi pete.
Where you impressed with the lamp and filter set up.
For anyone with airgun this is the way to go.
Still need to get the dsa to lock mine up completely then the laser will be the way forward for me on my mach2

The camcorder we are now using is a sony dcr pc330 or 330e. You no longer have to buy an over priced gen 1. What you can achieve with this camcorder is far superior and cost a fraction of the price. I am amazed that the technology has been there all along . I have a pair of pvs 7ns with a very good gen 2 tube in it and at 50 to 60 yards the sony camcorder is as good if not better, and that's looking through the scope.

This will only get better as we figure out which mode the camcorder needs to be in and don't forget the piicture we are getting is much better than what you are watching on you tube . For all you that don't know what this is about go on you tube and watch chubbtickler .

i see the sony dcr pc330 uses super nightshot mode. Is this better than the normal nightshot mode? I heard supernightshot was a bit laggy

How difficult is it to make a DSA to fit the Sony camcorders?

Which other models are available which would be suitable?

Alan.

Go to the plumbing shop and get some waste pipe . I have a dsa that I use with my pvs 14 . so i just use that. Any camcorder that's got a 1/4 or a 1/3 chip both do the job but the one we are using is the pc330 or 330e. This camcorder as 3000 pixels and is giving us the best picture.

I went out tonight with chubbtickler filming hares with the camcorder when a big badger came down the field eating worms as he wobbled along. He came within feet of us. The footage we have is amazing, as clear as a television picture, will put the footage on youtube probably at the week-end

going out tonight with the camcorder on the back of my rapid, should get some nice footage. Will get some pictures at 30 40 50 yards with the lamp with ir filter then do the same with the ir laser .been talking with one of the lads he says he can't believe the picture he's getting at these ranges with the lamp an ir filte.r the camcorder cost him £90 the lamp was made up from the scrap yard so cost nothing. As I said earlier, gen 1 scopes are pants compared with these.

This footage will be shown on you tube, probably next week.
